DAFT PUNK

Es sabido las expectativas que hay creadas alrededor de la secuela de Tron, la película de ciencia ficción de 1982, ignorada en un principio y luego convertida en cinta de culto. La secuela, llevada adelante por la gente de Disney, lleva por nombre Tron Legacy y cuenta con un soundtrack que ha dado mucho que hablar.

La banda sonora, como saben, es obra de los galos Daft Punk. La información apunta que los tracks, tanto de la banda de sonido como del score, serán publicados a fines de noviembre (el 22, para ser más precisos), y las presentaciones disponibles serán el CD tradicional, una edición de lujo (de la que no trascendieron detalles) y descarga digital.

Mucho se ha especulado sobre como el trabajo del dúo formado por Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo y Thomas Bangalter parece haber significado un cambio en el sonido del grupo. Como nos comentó Adrian en su momento, el soundtrack de Tron Legacy no tiene ritmos bailables, ni voces con vocoder, si no que por el contrario pueden apreciarse varias novedades con respecto a lo que suele ser el sonido de los franceses.

El estreno de la película se espera en las salas de todo el mundo para el 17 de diciembre. Un mes antes, tanto los fanáticos de la banda como los seguidores de la saga podrán disfrutar, a modo de adelanto, de las piezas que los muchachos de Daft Punk compusieron para la ocasión.

Röyksopp (a veces llamado 'Royksopp' o 'Røyksopp') es un dúo de música electrónica radicado en Bergen, Noruega conformado por Torbjørn Brundtland y Svein Berge. El grupo se formó oficialmente en 1998 y realizaron su debut con el álbum Melody A.M. en octubre del 2001, con el que vendieron más de un millón de copias alrededor del mundo y más de medio millón en el Reino Unido . Su discografía ha seguido creciendo con Junior y Senior.

VISIONARIES

Los visionaries es un grupo de políticos de hip hop de los Ángeles, California. El enfoque en temas positivos, así como los diversos orígenes étnicos de sus miembros. El grupo se formó en 1995 y desde entonces ha lanzado cuatro álbumes de larga duración en Up Above Records. Colectivamente, los seis miembros del grupo han publicado más de veinte proyectos como solistas y laterales. BECK

Beck Hansen (nacido el 8 de julio de 1970 en Los Ángeles, California, Estados Unidos) es cantante y compositor.

Desde pequeño, Beck estuvo influido por su padre, un músico de bluegrass callejero. Viviendo con su madre, una empleada administrativa, y su hermano, se crió en los suburbios de Los Ángeles, donde absorbió el hip-hop cada vez más creciente como breakdancer. Beck también vivió en Kansas con sus abuelos (su abuelo paterno era un pastor presbiteriano) y con su abuelo materno, el artista Al Hansen, en Inglaterra.

Después de dejar la escuela a los 16 años se mudó a Nueva York en 1986, aunque no le resultó posible unirse a la escena punk de esa ciudad. Por este motivo, Beck volvió a Los Ángeles y realizó sus primeras presentaciones en clubes como Raji’s y Jabberjaw.

Su música es considerada como una mezcla de esas influencias de su infancia: hip-hop callejero, delta blues, himnos presbiterianos, punk con letras de scat. Su música empezó a estructurarse de la manera en que hoy es conocido con la salida de su primer single, "MTV Makes Me Want To Smoke Crack". A esto le siguió el lanzamiento del single "Loser" de 12 pulgadas a través de la discográfica independiente Bong Load Custom Records, el cual fue producido por el técnico de hip-hop Karl Stephenson. En ese momento Beck vivía en un galpón infestado de ratas y trabajaba en una tienda de vídeos con un sueldo mínimo.

GORILLAZ

Gorillaz es una banda virtual británica creada en 1998 por Damon Albarn de la banda de rock alternativo Blur, y Jamie Hewlett, co-creador del comic book Tank Girl en Essex, Londres, Inglaterra. Un día mientras miraba MTV, Hewlett tuvo la idea de crear a la banda. En una entrevista comentó: «Si alguien mira MTV durante demasiado tiempo, podrá darse cuenta que es como el infierno — no hay nada entretenido allí. Así tuve la idea de crear una banda de dibujos animados con Albarn. Gorillaz está representado por cuatro personajes de dibujos animados: 2D, Murdoc, Noodle y Russel. Son usados para el material promocional, como en las portadas de discos, en carteles y en los conciertos, en los cuales se utilizan hologramas de los personajes. La música del grupo siempre cuenta con colaboraciones de diversos artistas; Albarn es el único colaborador permanente. Su música ha sido considerada como una mezcla de hip hop, electrónica, dub y pop. Gorillaz ha lanzado tres álbumes de estudio con las compañías discográficas Parlophone y Virgin: Gorillaz en 2001, Demon Days en 2005 y Plastic Beach en 2010.

KRAFTWERK

Kraftwerk ([ˈkʀaftvɛʁk], 'central energética' en alemán) es un grupo musical vanguardista alemán decisivo para el desarrollo de la música electrónica. Formado originalmente por Ralf Hütter y Florian Schneider en 1970, adquirieron fama tras la incorporación de Wolfgang Flür y Karl Bartos.

Las técnicas musicales y los instrumentos introducidos por ellos son hoy básicos, sin embargo, fueron realmente innovadores en su tiempo. Por las experimentaciones realizadas y por constituir la base sobre la que luego se asentó el género, son considerados como los padres de la música electrónica, ya que fueron los primeros en tocar música basada íntegramente en la utilización de instrumentos electrónicos. Adoptaron un estilo original, no restringido a la experimentación sónica.

Tras sus primeros discos experimentales, en 1974 se hicieron famosos en todo el mundo con Autobahn cuya canción de veintidós minutos demostró su confianza con los sintetizadores. Después siguieron tres álbumes muy influyentes para la música pop: Radioactivity (1975), Trans-Europe Express (1977) y The Man Machine (1978).

Fueron uno de los primeros grupos en usar únicamente instrumentos electrónicos, incluso procesaron con un Vocoder o generaron con un sintetizador vocal muchas de las letras para intensificar el tono profético de su sonido.

MOBY

Moby (nacido el 11 de septiembre de 1965 en Harlem, Nueva York) es un compositor pop de música electrónica estadounidense. Su verdadero nombre es Richard Melville Hall. Tomó su nombre artístico de su conocido bisabuelo, Herman Melville, autor de Moby Dick.

Después de colocar ocho de sus sencillos en el UK Top 40 en los años 90 haciendo música techno, su mayor éxito fue Play, lanzado en 1999, del cual vendió diez millones de copias en todo el mundo.

Ha tenido conflictos dialécticos con los cantantes Marilyn Manson y Eminem.

A comienzos de los años 80, Moby era miembro de una banda de hardcore punk llamada Vatican Commandos, la cual lanzó un EP llamado Hit Squad for God. Desde 1985, fue disc jockey en "The Beat" Port Chester, (Nueva York) y en 1989 firmó un contrato de grabación con Instinct Records.

Su primer éxito fue "Go", una canción progresiva que usaba la línea de Laura Palmer en la serie televisiva Twin Peaks. La canción alcanzó el top 10 británico en octubre de 1991, y le hizo ganar una aparición en Top of the Pops. En 1993, gracias al ascendente éxito, fue de gira con The Prodigy, Orbitl y Aphex Twin.
