The Foreign Exchange es un Duo de R & B / electrónica / dúo de hip hop formado por el rapero estadounidense y cantante Phonte Coleman y productor holandés Nicolay.
La pareja tuvo su primer contacto en tableros de mensajes en Okayplayer.com y comenzó a grabar y enviar música de ida y vuelta. Poco después, Phonte y Nicolay formaron The Foreign Exchange sin tener nunca conocieron en persona, de ahí el nombre de la moneda extranjera.
El álbum, conectado, fue lanzado en 2004 y fue un escaparate para los talentos musicales de Nicolay, así como una introducción a ideas afines Poco afiliados Hermano que hizo una aparición en el álbum. El álbum recibió buenas críticas y el single, "sincero" con YahZarah, fue lanzado con un vídeo promocional.
En octubre de 2008, el grupo lanzó su segundo álbum dejarlo todo atrás.
En junio de 2009, el grupo anunció que Zo! ahora es artista oficial de La huella de Divisas Música y en noviembre de 2009, YahZarah también se unió a la impresión.
En diciembre de 2009, el grupo descubrió que fueron nominados para un Grammy, por Mejor Desempeño Urbana / Alternativa por la hazaña pista de contador de los días. Muhsinah de su segundo álbum, "Deja todo atrás".
El grupo anunció recientemente que están trabajando en su tercer álbum, titulado "autenticidad".Está programado para ser lanzado el 12 de octubre de 2010.
